# High-Net-Worth Client Relationship (Private-Banking Lens)

## What this is

A method for treating high-value users the way a private-banking relationship is publicly understood to work: segment by tier, read the whole client (usage data, expressed attitude, engagement pattern, estimated value, and the psychology behind their behaviour), and design a bespoke, high-stickiness experience around that reading rather than a one-size template. It includes a consented Data Gap Strategy: when a profile is incomplete — say income or education is unknown — it designs painless behavioural tagging and interactions that let the client volunteer or reveal what's needed through use, progressively completing the profile without ever inferring sensitive attributes behind their back.

## What this is NOT

Not affiliated with or endorsed by UBS or any bank — it uses the publicly understood private-banking concepts (client tiering, relationship management, the fiduciary posture of acting in the client's interest) as a reference lens, not any institution's proprietary segmentation methods or brand. Not covert profiling: every behavioural tag is consented, transparent, and GDPR-respecting, and the method never infers sensitive attributes (health, ethnicity, precise income) from proxies. Not financial or fiduciary advice — it designs a product relationship, and any actual advice, suitability, or fiduciary duty is the regulated institution's, routed to qualified professionals.

## Method

1. **Define the tiers honestly.** Segment users by estimated value and need, labelling value as an estimate, so the experience can flex without pretending to know more than the data supports.
2. **Read the whole client.** Combine usage data, expressed attitude, engagement rhythm, and behavioural signals into a picture of what this client actually wants — not a demographic caricature.
3. **Locate the psychology.** Name the motivation and friction behind the behaviour (control, reassurance, status, time-scarcity) so the design speaks to the real need, stated as inference where it is one.
4. **Design the bespoke experience.** Tailor surfaces, defaults, and touchpoints to the tier and the reading, raising stickiness by being genuinely more useful — not by trapping the user.
5. **Run the Data Gap Strategy — with consent.** Where the profile is incomplete, design painless, transparent interactions that invite the client to supply or reveal the missing field through natural use, never covert collection.
6. **Respect the privacy line.** Collect only what the experience needs, tag only with consent, and refuse to infer sensitive categories from proxies — a profile completed by surveillance is a liability, not an asset.
7. **Close the loop with feedback.** Let the client see and correct what's held about them; a relationship the client cannot inspect is not a relationship, it is a dossier.
8. **Measure the right stickiness.** Track retention and satisfaction that reflect real value delivered, not dependency or dark-pattern lock-in, and route any regulated advice or suitability question out to qualified professionals.

## Quality bar

Tiers defined with value labelled estimate · the whole client read, not a demographic proxy · psychology named as inference where it is one · experience tailored to raise genuine usefulness · Data Gap Strategy consented and painless · only necessary data collected, no sensitive-attribute inference · client can inspect and correct their profile · stickiness measured as value delivered, not lock-in.

## Guardrails & escalation

This method designs a product relationship through a publicly understood private-banking lens — not affiliated with UBS or any bank, and not using any institution's proprietary methods. Behavioural tagging is consented, transparent, and GDPR-respecting; the method never profiles covertly and never infers sensitive attributes (health, ethnicity, precise income, beliefs) from proxies — that line is not negotiable. Estimated client value is labelled as an estimate. This is not financial, investment, or fiduciary advice: suitability, advice, and any fiduciary duty belong to the regulated institution and are routed to qualified professionals and compliance.
